Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” Las Vegas tribute show continues in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.
The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in pop/rock music history.
More than just being one of the biggest selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also written and recorded the songs of a generation — including some of the most unforgettable songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being affected by Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be preserved for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.
Ask Siri “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his idol, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In the spring of 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to create his own tribute production.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Neil Diamond Tribute.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues that typically host major artists.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.
The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute reviews about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
